GCI Test is an established, privately-held environmental engineering company in Plainfield, IN looking for full-time Field Technicians interested in air quality testing. Candidates must be able to travel weekdays/overnight stay, work safely at heights, and work weekday overtime. A college degree is helpful, but not required.

The Position to be filled: As a new hire, you will mostly assist with loading our equipment into our trailers from the office, then travel with the crew to the client’s location, and assist with unloading and carrying equipment to the testing location. The rest of the crew will then assemble the equipment and once testing begins you will help with moving equipment around the testing location. When testing is complete at the end of the week, everyone tears down the equipment and heads back to the office. Basic understanding of hand tools is a plus, but not necessary as you will have training on using such tools. Lifting equipment up to 50lbs for small durations of time is to be expected, but no one works alone as this is a teamwork atmosphere. You will need to be comfortable with working at heights as most of our testing is performed on platforms more than 200′ from the ground. GCI will provide all required safety gear, PPE, and training to safely work in these environments.

Weekly Description: Typically, our crews (3-4 individuals) leave Monday and get back to our office by Thursday or Friday depending on when the tests are completed. You will exceed 40hrs of work/week and then overtime is given. If travel is not required for the week, we will have duties in our shop.

No past work experience is needed but is welcome.

Pay: Starting at $16.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)

COVID-19 considerations:
We provide face masks and hand sanitizer for all employees who travel and take daily temperature readings when in the office.
